FAQ

1. It's cold where I live but I want to play. What can I do?
Great question. The answer: leggings/tights. You're more than welcome to wear them--WITH A SKIRT. In Skirtathon, a tunic, or a t-shirt, with a pair of leggings DOES NOT COUNT.

2. I'm a dude. This isn't fair cause it's not socially appropriate for me to wear a skirt. What can I do?
Many men ask this question. Over the years, I've tried to come up with 'thon ideas for them (mustaches, ties, etc.) but nothing ever really matched the fun of a skirt. But this year, for people who can't do, they can SPONSOR. If you'd like to sponsor a skirtathoner, the proceeds will go to breast cancer research. Click here to visit the donation website. And, yes, yours truly, donated $5 to the cause. You can too.

3. How do you define a skirt?
A skirt is loosely defined as anything that has a hole cut out at the bottom.

4. How many days is Skirtathon?
Technically, it's the ENTIRE month of April but because we are only thoning during the weekdays, it usually works out to around 21 days.

5. Can I buy skirts or dresses in the case that I run out?
Tricky, tricky question. In years past, I've been hardcore about saying no because it unlevels the playing field. What I will say now is this: Buying skirts and dresses is highly discouraged. However, if you're in day 20 and you just need something to get you through to the finish line and you don't really wanna wear your bathrobe to work that day? Sure. Go get you a skirt. But, if it's a prom/wedding/formal dress that's standing between you and the finish line? Go for it girl. You'll have some stories to tell.
